Temperature/fan question

Hey, I just got a MBP 15". My CPU temperature is at 170F and the fan speed is 2000. Is this right? The bottom of the notebook is pretty warm. I feel like the speed should be higher. I've had this computer for about two weeks, so im just getting used to it.
