The genius will see it i assume under his diagnostics if i bring it in?

He wont make me "recreate" it will he lol?

Any advice or tips appreciated...

It was set off last week and I had to cool the phone down before it was working again..

-thx

That should be a valid reason for a replacement. If the phone gets too hot without little effort (simple browsing shouldn't trigger it).

You might also notice the battery just draining really fast... The Genius person should know of this problem by now and replace yours.

also the proximty issue is really annoying the hell out of me :mad::mad:

thats the only real issue tbh ... Ii must be one of the "lucky" ones? lol

Proximity sensor will be fixed soonish by an iOS update... At least according to what Steve said on Friday.

So just have to live with your phone doing weird things when in a call.

What happened to it?

the heatwave in NY we are having lately .... I am outdoors alot and i noticed it once so far... might have been triggered more times without me realizing?

I can confirm at least one time , I had to get in car and hold it next to the AC vents to cool it down.

The proximity sensor issue will be fixed in the next software update.

Cool , I think Ill have em check and run diagnostic on the phone regarding the temp warning just in case something went haywire...

Maybe if i got time ill go off hours to Apple Store :)

ill report back on what happens :)

Happens to me pretty regularly when I'm using trapster in my car while using my iPod. I have no ac in my car either which doesn't help. Sometimes it doesn't completely die, but the screen dims and cuts volume from the iPod to the head unit so I have to crank the volume on the cd player. My 3GS never did this, so I'm kinda disappointed. The upgraded gps was one of the reasons I wanted the ip4. Sucks that if I use it in my car, the screen dims or it dies and feels like a piece of coal when you touch it.
