Today while looking for something I found a Logitech K750 - the solar powered keyboard - that I had forgotten I had. I bought it quite a while ago and then stopped using it in favor of the Magic Keyboard (2015 model) because it seemed to have died.

This keyboard uses an ML2032 rechargeable battery, and since I had the non rechargeable version available - CR 2032 - I decided to try it to see if it was the keyboard that had actually died, or just the battery. In fact, with the new battery the keyboard is working perfectly and I actually like typing on this keyboard a lot so I want to start using it regularly again.

The problem is that no stores nearby had the rechargeable version of the battery available, so I had to order it from Amazon and it should arrive in 7-10 days.

Is it OK if I keep the non rechargeable battery in the keyboard during this time frame or are there any risks that it could damage the keyboard or some other issue since a rechargeable one is expected? Thanks.

I would cover the solar panels with some tape while I wait for the correct battery
I just did, thanks for the suggestion! I put some paper first and then on top of it some brown paper-tape used for packaging. I didn't put the tape directly on the panels as I don't know if this could damage the panels. Anyway I am pretty sure no light is reaching the panels now. Thanks!
