Hello,

I've done some research over a month or two now, but just can't seem to get things under control.

-3GB Spotify cache
-4GB ipodphoto cache
-13GB .tmp...mov file that's hidden along with others
-various iMovie droppings...mostly in /Users/~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MediaLibraryService/Data/Library/Caches

I'm sure there's a few I'm forgetting. The inability to organize photos by file size makes things very difficult. But I'm constantly finding new places for hiding my precious GeeBees. :D

And yes, it's my fault for buying the 128GB MacBook Pro. :(

Is there some tool that can be used for this? I've been using Windows mostly before this and never had this many places that consistently ballooned.

edit: here's a few more:

250MB /Users/~/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/private/com.apple.cloudphotosd/CloudSync.noindex/Engine/filecache

2GB /Users/~/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/private/com.apple.Photos/externaleditsession

3GB /Users/~/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/private/com.apple.Photos/exporter

Those last two are the same 2GB movie file I edited in iMovie. So two here, 1 in photo library, another in the ilife cache working folder for iMovie, then the exported movie on the desktop, then the exported movie that's been imported into the library.

It seems a little ridiculous to have so many copies of the movie all over the place. :(

Time to start "triaging" and deleting stuff you really don't need.
Also might be time to consider an external USB3 drive, for additional storage...
