Hey guys I just bought a macbook pro 2.53 blah blah, and everything seemed to be working fine. Had it for about 3 days. Suddenly, I opened up Front Row, and it froze, wouldn't do anything. So I restart it. Then, the apple logo appears and the spinning wheel underneath it spins for a bit then stops, and never boots even when I wait for an extended period time.

I want to return it based on the fact that I find it unacceptable that my computer would be doing this so soon. I did "accidentally" (new to mac, clueless, dumb mistake) put OS X install disc and apparently re-installed it. Could that have been the problem? Oddly enough I'm typing on it right now, but that seems fishy to me. for a $2500 piece of equipment you would expect it to at the very least boot up every time...

Your thoughts are appreciated.

I would suggest isolating the cause of the boot anomaly before coming to any conclusions or seeking a replacement.

Has it done it more than the one time?

Yes it did it about 4 times in a row before I tried again a few minutes later and it randomly works again.

Could you explain? I've been a mac user for 4 days including today. I couldn't be more lost right now...This wouldn't delete any programs or anything right?
