HI there,
I thought it might be a simple thing..... All I want to do is copy the TM backup on an external hard drive to a different hard drive while I format and partition to different sizes. I don't believe I installed any WD software, but just in case, I want to wipe it and start over. Evidently the programmers don't want this to happen because I get an error, "The backup can't be copied because the backup volume doesn't have ownership enabled". This doesn't appear to be related to permissions. Any workarounds?
I have two TM backups and my plan to next reformat a newer 2GB portable drive to remove some WD security software will run into the same obstacle.
I might just wipe the 250 GB worth of TM files and start over with what's now the 125 BG content on my MBA, because I can almost convince myself that I have enough backups of old files on DVD or Bluray media that if I really wanted to find an old file I could.....
Cheers!
Glen
