What’s is the osx terminal command to see the cpu type ie: 7440 7045 etc. ? For the life of me I cannot recall what it is.

I recall the flood gap TFF site had it listed but its no longer there & WBM currently thinks I’m a spamming bot and has blocked my access LOL :D

Try "machine" command.
That's the ticket - thanks. Forgetting this was the first old man moment I've had in a while.

Just tried this on an i5 machine and it reported back:

Edit: this command will provide the full information. :)

Code:
sysctl -n machdep.cpu.brand_string

Which in my case generated:
I've used this in the past on my newer Intel and Apple Silicon Macs however it errors out with my PowerPC macs. The closest I could get was akin to Linux Neofetch: [ system_profiler SPHardwareDataType ] which certainly gives lots of great system info but in that info does not include the cpu build#.

Now, I just need to not forget [ Machine ] again LOL. Thank you both. :)
