How do I modify the behaviour of ctrl-click on a filename in the terminal?

For example if the file has an absolute path or is prepended with a tilde like ~/foo.docx, then I have the service submenu options like to open or locate the file.
However, if it is just foo.docx as is almost always the case in my case, I do not get this automagic goodness.

Thanks
