Hey, I'm looking for some help to remove an annoyance for my terminal shell.

I recently installed Netdiscover. I'm pretty sure I should have been more cautious having recently upgraded to ML, but I followed this walkthrough for Lion, so I hoped it would be okay.

For the most part, it was.. but..

Now, every single time I launch Terminal, I'm greeted with:

Last login: Tue Jul 31 17:24:51 on ttys000
.netdiscover.swo: Permission denied
.netdiscover.swp: Permission denied
MBP:~ ed$

I have no idea what could be running when the Terminal opens to cause this, or where these files are (or aren't) but I'd love to know, because it's bugging the hell out of me.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks, Ed

I've not looked at the source but it's probably added something to your profile (or the system profile).

Have a look at ~/.profile or /etc/profile otherwise grep for references to those files in the source to see what it's trying to do with them.

After drawing a blank searching the source and the profiles, I ended up doing a recursive grep of /etc, and it turned out the files were in /etc/paths.d.

Thanks for your help!
