Hi, when I compile a c code using gcc, the output file always goes to my home directory by default, how can I change it so that it will go to the Desktop? Just in general, how to get Terminal output any file to Desktop so that I don't have to cd it every time?
And by the way, I don't seem to find the .profile file in file system(I have turned on show hidden file). Where is it ? I have ML 10.8.2

Thanks
