Posting this on behalf of a friend who has had some problems with Apple Store in Kingston, London.

She took her absolutely pristine factory original 13 Pro in to get a battery replacement a couple of weeks back. They took 6 hours and it was returned saying that one of the screws was corroded and refused to change the battery. They said they can't drill it out because they don't have a tool in that store.

I cleaned out the screw heads with isopropyl and they were not corroded at all just dirty. Not only that they completely stripped one of the pentalobe screw heads. I think they had a gorilla idiot doing a ****** job quite frankly because they should have cleaned the screw head out before applying any force to it.

So options on the table are:

1. Get the screw replaced by some 3rd party repairer and take it back to Apple.

2. Attempt to remove it myself (not going to bother with this quite frankly)

3. Go back to a different Apple store (probably Westfield White City where I've never had any problems) and see what they say. I am willing to go with her and use my art of persuasion (getting rid of potential other customers) so they fix it.

4. Email Tim Cook and hope his army of subordinates manage to sort something out.

Any thoughts on how best to approach this one?

Edit: I'll add that they didn't even contact her to say that they looked at it either. She's just had a knee replacement 4 weeks before and was left hobbling around for hours with no phone and nothing to do.
