Terrible Mac Pro graphics glitches and garbling - please help!

Hi all, I have a terrible problem with my early 2008 (8 core) mac pro. Everytime I am editing with final cut, after around 5 minutes, the contents of the screen will start to act very strangely and before I know it, the whole screen is garbled with multicolored shapes and lines (see screenshots below). The system will then completely crash and I will have to hold the power button to shut down. Yesterday, I took it to my local apple store and they put it down to a broken graphics card and fitted a replacement, today its happening again!

Please take a look at the screen shots posted and let me know if any of you have had this problem or if you can help to shed some light on this issue for me.

I'm running an ATI Radeon HD 2600 / snow leopard.

Well, this isnt my strong point at all.. but, at first i said, somethings going on with your Gcard, but I thats out of the picture, if you have had it replaced, and it's only in final cut, it looks like.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but your graphic issue is only in your final cut program, you've never lost your whole screen and control of your program?

This looks like an error in final cut.. what I would do, and would help me figure this out for you, is watch what your doing, does this mess happen after you do a certain command, or edit.. or whatever you video editing people do..

I'm having a feeling you got an issue with your software, maybe a format that you are working with, a bug in final cut, something.

But like i said, if you give me more information, I can probably help you solve this.

Just start watching the commands you do, and let me know if it happens at certain command.
