Hi,
yesterday I finally bought a
Powerlogix ZIF G3 900 processor upgrade card to bring new life into my old G3 B/W.
After carefully reading the manual, I've put the card in the ZIF socket, ensuring myself that the jumpers were set correctly and the CPU had full contact with the heatsink.
So I turned on my Mac - and it worked! First I ran XBench - the results were impressive. But after 5 minutes, the computer crashed (I couldn't even move the pointer). I turned it off, opened the case and noticed, that the heatsink was extremely hot. Now, nothing happens when I turn on my Mac. I've tried pressing the CUDA button, replacing the heatsink and several other things - without success. Seems like the Powerlogix card has died!
Please report if you've had similar experiences!
Thanks,
Arne
