Just an update for you guys (im on Tesco too) just spoken with them over the phone and they just had an update about the nano sim card.

We will be able to order a nano sim card this monday to get it in time for friday. If you are on a sim only monthly deal like me when you get the nano sim you just call up tesco and they will transfer your contract across.
 
Anything for new customers? I was told over the online live chat to check back on the 21st for Nano-SIMs and SIM-Only tariffs. My iPhone doesn't come until the 2nd shipment so I'm in no immediate rush.

All I was told was that from monday Nano sim cards will be available for order. So I guess they may be introducing their costs for new customers too as they will only be providing the iphone 5 on contract first.

Thanks for the heads up. Was thinking of moving from Tesco to Orange but they (Orange) won't do their 20% government discount on iPhones or Galaxy S3 so gonna stick with my cheap Tesco sim-only.

Anyone remember how much slower Tesco usually are at releasing dates and prices?

I'm gonna wait for the PAYG and transfer my monthly sim, is it usually much cheaper than direct from apple?

The Clubcard points gained when trippled can get you up to £100+ back.

the phone won't be any cheaper, though you won't get your club card points through apple:D:D
 
Well bad news everyone, I've just spoken to Tesco Mobile.

I was informed that they wont be stocking Nano Sim's in stores and they wont be available to order via telephone or the website until FRIDAY!.

So it looks like once we receive our phones its going to be sat in the box for a few days until our sim card comes through the post.
 
Not true, they said that to me at first when i rang this morning then i told them i was informed last week i was told we could, so he went and checked and surely enough iv ordered one. It will arrive for friday.

Edit: and wow.... near the end of the call (they said I couldnt have one because they never got their deliery yet while speaking to 2 people after the first they said it was fine and I could. They said to call back tomorrow or wednesday... great
 
Customer Service has just been updated, i've just ordered 2 by phone for delivery before friday.
 
Hmm i just rang them back up, they said they can order one for you now but it will take 3-5 days when they get stock from apple, so tesco dont actually have their hands on the nano's yet... they are still awaiting them from apple but can place orders in now so that the minute they get them they send them out.

So it could be anytime really..
 
Just called 4455 (Option 5) and said to the guy that Tesco told me on Friday to call today to order a Nano SIM. No objection and ordered one straight away - delivery in 3-5 working days.

I asked the guy this and he said 3-5 days from today so one of us is getting incorrect info (no surprises). Will wait and see what happens and cut down my micro SIM as a short term fix if necessary.

Man I had no idea about this! The customer service rep i spoke to on friday said i have to ring on Friday. Been sat waiting here like a chump.

Spoke to a nice lady, who said she'd send one out. She also mentioned 3-5 working days. She implied that it would be from today. Really hope its 3 as that will be friday!

Same here, spoke to their CS dept yesterday and they said it would be delivered in 3-5 days - hopefully before Friday!

yep poor tarrifs,s im glad I went and bought the phone directly from apple. Then I use my £12.50 3 month rolling contract with tesco which gives me 500 mins, unlimited texts and 1gb of data.

It works out much cheaper...
 
Its definatley on Friday, I was (and still am) cancelling my contract when the lady confidently told me they were available on Friday. I feel I have a better deal for me on 3 and better signal though so bye bye 12.50 contract, i will miss you!

She did tell me to phone on Friday for it to arrive on Mon/Tues though. Just a heads up

Seems i was misinformed and the only way to transfer a Micro-SIM contract to a Nano-SIM contract is to buy the phone unlocked from Apple, otherwise you have to get one of the new tariffs shown above. Very disappointing.

Mine just arrived :D

Ordered on Monday, delivered as promised today.

Big relief!

Now just need the iPhone 5 to arrive tomorrow as planned

:)
