What's the preferred method of checking out a new 24" ACD?

Backlight bleed, dead/hot pixels, etc.

Turn it on first

I usually open up photoshop and and create a clear white full bleed page (new document under file) to check for discoloration or dead colorful pixels.
Then I do a reverse and open up a black full bleed page.
