Testing New Graphics Cards in 'old' Mac Pros

I've been heavily involved in the thread on whether the new 8800 card will work in the 'old' Mac Pros. Partly due to me I think the thread has drifted. We established that the official response from from Apple is that it will not but it seems that they may have stated this because it has not been fully tested.

I therfore thought I'd start a new clean thread to ask if anyone has made and positive ground on testing any of the new cards.

As I said in the other thread, Rob_ART from barefeats has apparently had confirmation from AMD/ATi that the 2600 works fine in "old" Mac Pros.
