I know you have to re-jailbreak everytime you reboot or run out of battery, but does this include restarting springboard?
 
I successfully JB'd my ipod, but when I reboot it, it's stuck on the apple logo.
How can I turn it off so that I can run redsn0w again?
 
Force it into DFU Mode (Google it) when it's at the Apple logo, then rerun redsn0w on it.
