Tethering an iTouch to a iPhone

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3g and my g/f has an iTouch 2nd gen. Is is possible to get the iTouch to use my iPhone's network?

Maybe if there was a laptop creating the network. Someone with better knowledge of proxies could tell you for sure. But as of yet, the iPhone or iTouch cannot CREATE ad-hoc networks. So you'll have nothing to connect to.

I figured, laptop makes the network, iPhone and iTouch connect, configure proxies for your laptop and iTouch maybe... That's what I came up with.
