Hey guys,

so I'm scheduled to spend a few days in hospital next week and—of course—they do not offer any sort of internet access, so I plan on tethering my Macbook with my iphone. I'm on a 500mb cap with my current contract so I would like to use as little data as possible.

What are your techniques to use less data when tethering?

So far I'm

- turning off "load images automatically" in firefox
- using click-to plugins for flash etc.
- turning off any auto update, sync etc. feature I can think of

In Mail i can uncheck "display remote images in HTML messages" but is there an option to manually download attachments?

Any more suggestions?
