Tethering inquiry

Hi all first time post!

I went for an Apple watch try and forgot one of the questions I wanted answered!

I understand the watch both has built in wifi & latches onto the phone wifi whilst not having interval GPS. Being in London where Wifi can be patchy at best and non existent in most places!

Can you tether to he phone's 3G/4G like the personal hotspot on the iPhone specifically in regards to maps whereby if thy wifi is not present then maps won't work on the watch?

Yes. The watch will piggy back on whatever data the phone uses.
