Tethering my camera to an intel based mac

When tethering my canon 5d mark 2 to my new 17" laptop
the canon software will occasionally freeze.
This is not a camera issue, I know it is possibly a canon software issue.
What I was wondering is if anyone had contacted mac and mac had found a solution.
Maybe it's something to do with the USB on intel laptops????

i think you should check http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ for a more definitive answer. but, someone on here may know.
