Picked up a 16 Pro earlier today and am currently going through a slow data transfer between my 14 Pro and the 16 Pro. It's been going for maybe 90 minutes and is about halfway done saying 2 hours remaining. I can hear my text message notifications going off on the new 16 Pro but of course cannot get in to check them on the 16 Pro and they are not coming through on my other devices (iPad, Mac, Watch). Is there a way to get these to come through during this data transfer or am I stuck waiting until the transfer is complete?

iPhone 16 Pro Text/iMessages During New Phone Setup/Data Transfer

mine says about an hour unless it's being optimistic. u can always check imessage on ur apple computer or ipad.
Fortunately mine all of a sudden kicked at about the 2 hour mark and then finished up quickly. There is a lot of items such as apps and downloaded music from Apple Music that still needs to occur so not everything completely transfers. What's strange is I know I heard at least 6-7 text message sounds come through on the new phone during transfer process and when it was all done it showed I had no new messages. I did end up getting a couple of iMessages on other devices during the transfer process but that doesn't account for the other alerts. So I'm unsure what happened.
That's why I let mine go overnight. Are you using a cable? Supposedly it's faster.
