I've built a relatively long web app which essentially consists of a long form with text inputs, checkboxes, drop down selects, and textareas.

It worked perfectly in Safari 6.0.5. It still works well in Chrome and Firefox.

Using Safari 6.1 and 7.0 typing text into text inputs (input type="text") is tremendously laggy. In fact it's unusable. But typing into textareas is unaffected. Very odd.

This must be a bug but I haven't found anything in web searches. Has anyone else experienced this problem with Safari 6.1 and 7.0?

Yup. I see the same bug on a web game I frequent.

I hope Apple fixes this, if they even know about it. I've never filed a bug report before.

If it's not fixed in 10.9.1 I'll have to resort to using textareas shaped like text inputs - and file a bug report.
