Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to see how many text messages I have sent and received on my iphone? The reason is I only have 200/month and do not want to run over. I know I can check on at&t's website but that just takes time. I know my old phone had a menu where I could see how many I have sent and received. Thanks.

In my contacts, I made a contact called AT&T, with a phone number of *3282#.

That calls AT&T, and they send you a text message saying your data usage and your text messages.

If you have unlimited (for either) it'd be: xxx/Unlimited

AFAIK there is non on a non-jb'd iPhone 3G, however a feature with AT&T will let you dial *3282# and wait for the usage details to be sent via SMS which includes SMS as well.

Would the receiving of the at+t text message count against the 200 txt msg limit?

Nope, it's free. Otherwise I had overages already

fireshot91 beat me by some seconds to my other post, good one haha

xD. I try my hardest.

No the text message doesn't count. Any messages you get from AT&T involving something on your account don't count against your 200.

if you're jailbroken, there's an SMS counter app in cydia - it allows to to specify the date range and specific contact

Damn..for my messaging it just says unlimited. I wish they would show you how many you've/sent received. I guess it doesn't really matter in that case though...

Yeah, I just go to the AT&T site. It would be nice if the phone could track it the way it tracks data and minutes, and allow you to reset the counter as you would those other numbers.
