Text Message Forwarding not working

I'm not sure where I should post this. I had it working before, but remember having problems in the past. Right now I'm on Mac OS Sierra, and I'm using iOS 12.

Text Message Forwarding works on my MacBook Pro with Sierra, but I'm having a hard time on my iMac. I tried resetting network settings, signing out of iCloud and logging back in, etc.

I get the message on my iMac that it's waiting for me to enter the code on the iPhone, but I don't receive anything. Any help?

I had the same issue, someone suggested me to disable message iCloud backup restart and then try to add your IMac in your iPhone forward settings.
