text message messing up?

When I receive a message it shows re phone number including the area code instead of the name of the person who sent it. I checked the address book and the number is saved exactly the same. Is there a reason for this?

Are you sure there is a 1 in front of the numbers in your contacts?

You can try adding a + and then a 1 like +1(xxx)-xxx-xxx.

If that doesn't work, then try restoring it in iTunes.
