Hello. I'm used to switch off my phone at night, so messages might be received first at the time I switch on my phone.
Does the iPhone have an option to show the date when a text message was sent?

thanks

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4S: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

No it doesn't. Just shows when sent by you or when you received it.

that's unfortunate, but thanks for the quick reply.

if anyone wants to recommend an alternative (also one that would require jailbreaking)... i'm interested too.

You could use Google Voice. I don't think there is any alternative that would not require using a different number for texts.
