Text over wifi?

Is there a way to do this through jailbreak?

Its not a bad idea to be fair.

Send a text message via wifi so it shows up or push's to the persons iPhone as a normal text message.

Would be a useful way to send messages for free without having to login to messenger/ichat/aim etc etc

I dont think there is anything out there like ive explained but of course there are tons of messaging apps. Is this what you mean? interesting idea none the less.

There are apps even in the regular app store that do this.


And here you are wishing you could somehow do it now that you've jailbroken.

I'm pretty sure TextFree runs over WiFi/3G/EDGE

Several apps use Apple's Push Notification Service to push pop-up messages/texts, as long as the phone has a data connection. WhatsApp is my favorite, as lots of my friends use it. Works great!
