Text preview switched off

If you have text preview disabled in notifications on your iPhone (just displays "text message" in lock screen instead of the actual content for privacy" will it still display the full message on the watch?

My guess is that you can configure which notifications have a short look and a long look (long look has the preview).

I hope this would be independent of each other. I don't want a preview on my phone but would like it on my watch. That's just me.

Yes you can. So you tap on the notification to see the text. (if you have privacy for notifications enabled on the watch. Otherwise it will show the full message regardless of your phone settings.)
