Just picked up new MBA 13" today.

So far, impressed since I exchanged my iPad2

First time using Lion. How do I make the text size a little bigger than the default?

You have unfortunately stumbled upon one of the few downsides of OS X. Unlike Windows, there is no system-wide option to increase font size for menus and such. You can zoom into pages typically using command + like in Safari, but the menus remain really tiny, at least IMO.

I tried changing resolution to 1280 x 800, helps a little but not as sharp?

Thx

Yes, you can do that, but a laptop display is designed to be run at one resolution, called the "native" resolution. Any other resolution you attempt to run it at will be a little fuzzy. On the 13" that's 1440x900.

"Tinker Tool" does allow for some font tweaking. It's not perfect but it may help.
