I love Apple's Text-to-Speech feature. Use it all the time to have my emails proofread back to me, but I've recently started having issues with it though.

I think the problems started when I upgraded to Lion, but I'm not 100% sure. What I am sure of is that its only a problem when I have my Apple LED Cinema Display monitor plugged in. Of the three cables I use to attach my monitor (power, Mini DisplayPort, USB) its only a problem when the USB cable is connected, if that helps.

Any ideas?

The USB cable also carries sound to the monitor's speakers, IIRC. Sounds like a stupid question, but have you made sure that other sound works while that's plugged in, and that's it's not simply muting the sound or that the speakers aren't working on the monitor?

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. No all other sounds works perfectly, its just the text-to-speech feature. Its bizarre.
