I used to be able to receive and watch both pictures and videos sent via text on my 1st gen Apple Watch. Now it's telling me to go to the phone to see them. What's gives? Thx!

Texted pictures won't show on watch

How do I determine that? It's just a picture. No other text or message attached. The two people who sent them have iPhones.
It should say in small writing above the message on iPhone or watch, just thought if it's a text message (mms) it might not show up on the phone but just checked my watch and I get pictures on both text and iMessage messages.

Sometimes when images first come in (like if I'm in message on the Watch at the time) I get a message that I can view the image on the iPhone. However, if I go back to message on the Watch later, the image is displayed.
