TextEdit but w. better images. Suggestions?

I'm big fan of TextEdit. It does 85% of what I want it to do, BUT it really doesn't handle images very well. Basically I want a program that's EXACTLY like textedit, but that also has the ability to resize images on the page.

Any suggestions?
