TextEdit: Font Keeps Shrinking

Whenever I open a TextEdit document, the font is tiny. I enlarge and save it, but when I open it again, it's tiny.

This occurs in Plain text and Rich Text format.

Is there a way to keep it larger when I open/close documents?
