For the past week, whenever I double-click a text/textedit file to open it, unless I open Textedit manually before, it won't automatically open Textedit with the file.

It does work if Textedit is already open, or if I drag the text file onto the Textedit icon, it opens (even when closed). But double-clicking as normal doesn't do anything. I get the open "zooming" animation, but textedit doesn't open.

All other apps behave as they should.

Can anyone help?

Hope someone can help. It's odd that only Textedit files behave like this, everything else is fine.

I've Google'd, and found nothing. Repaired permissions, restarted, recreated the files, sill the same.
