I'm a newbie to the iPhone (I don't have one yet). I do have the 4G Touch and enjoy using textfree and skype. Can I use these apps on the iphone too? Or are they blocked because they conflict with using the providers services?

I actually live in Japan and think that using Skype over the iphone would be great. If you can use it, do you basically just launch the app and you can call anyone at Skype rates? How's the quality?

So, now I need to decide between using an ipod touch and "regular" phone vs. the iphone...
