Texting a pic from my iPhone 5

I have a iphone 5..and I'm trying to send a pic in a text but it says Not Delivered ..The person I'm sending it to has a different phone not an iPhone ..
What am i not doing or doing wrong ?.Thanks for any help

Are you on WiFI?

Try sending on cellular if you are. If you aren't on WiFi, or it doesn't work after trying it on cellular, then the photo may be too big (either for your carrier's servers or the receiver's carrier's servers) or the receiver can't receive MMS.
