Texting doesn't show up where I need it to

So I have upgraded my 4S and iPad to iOS6 and now have an issue, surprise.

Scenario:
Last night I sent a message to her from the iPad with a response back. Today she sent me a text and it went to my iPad and not my phone. I didn't see it until later.

I have since sent her a text via phone and now all her responses show up on my phone.

I have not had this issue before the upgrade. Does anyone have a solution?
