No problems just pleased with my new cMBP!! Enjoying my base spec 15" cMBP. It is buttery smooth and its the perfect design. Johnny Ives is one smart man with great taste. I laugh inside when I think back on all the crappy and ugly windows pcs and laptops I had.

What do you like about the MBP?

Oh well. Its easier to gripe than be positive. Positive threads are uninteresting.lol

mine wont be here until wednesday or I would comment one way or the other. This will be my first mac as I am officially switching over from being a pc user. I hope I like it as much as you!

Based on wiki, he has nothing to do with the Mac Pro?
What does that have to do with this thread, which is about the MacBook Pro? He's still over all industrial design, even though he wasn't the lead designer for the Mac Pro.

Yes.. because one man is responsible for a design in a giant corporation like Apple. Heck, I can't even be responsible for designing a package in a 10-men environment.

Do you know how many people work for the Apple industrial and engineering teams? It's not just Ive.

Do you know for sure he hasn't designed the Mac Pro, or you're just assuming that from the wiki?

Because Wikipedia says: "He is the lead designer of many of Apple's products, including the MacBook Pro, iMac...". It doesn't say it's limited to those products.

Otherwise that would mean he also didn't design the MacBook, iPod nano, iPod shuffle, Thunderbolt display, Mac mini, Xserve, iBook, PowerBook, PowerMac / Cube, all the accessories, etc. which I would find strange given how everything looks consistent.

Oops. Correction to first post. Typed Ives instead of Ive. Oh well. He's one heck of a designer. Cant wait to see what he does with iOS too.

Gosh even positive threads devolve. Ok. Let me clarify for you. Thank you Johnny Ive and all the other designers.

Not so fast.

I always thought the cMBP was a little FAT. rMBP factor perfect.

Aluminum casing can look dull when worn, after losing that whachumacallit coating?

One more thing: Johnny Ives thinks Windows 8 is cool. Arrrrrhhhhhhh! Beware what u wish for. The NEW, Jobs-less Johnny Ives!

Nothing against the retina. Of course that is awesome but it isn't in everyone's budget either. For my needs the base 15 is plenty great.

And who is Ives?
I genuinely didn't know because I too thought people decided to make themselves feel better by calling their no -unibody "classic."
It stands for Classic MacBook Pro or the non-retina version.
Although I believe this is wrong since Classic MBP is the non-unibody model.

That's what I thought. I think people just assign silly names.

Shouldnt this be posted in the 'got my new/just ordered' thread.

Why the need to start a new pointless thread OP?
