I just ordered the iPhone 3GS 32GB version from my local AT&T store and have to thank them. I found out that with my FAN discount it put me $5 under the elgibilty limit before taxes (of $100 per month) since I bought the iPhone 3G last July. But they went ahead and approved me for it so I could get it and not wait until Dec. They could have been jerks but weren't. So ended up getting the 3GS for $299 instead of $499. So I figured I would I would say something AT&T did for the good since all they get a bad press lately.

Just a quick note, your National Account Discount (NAD) is not a factor in the > $99 MRC calculation. The MRC is calculated on the individual voice rate plan + select data plans / features ($10 / $20 data plans don't count) before any discounts are applied :D

Actually they said I wasn't able to until they got it approved from the district rep. So I am not sure. When I checked via the *639# it also said I wasn't elgible yet either.
