Hey,

I just purchased a brand new macbook and it's got that "new mac smell". You know what Im talking about! Well, anyway, for reasons I cant get into, I have to somehow get rid of this smell. Does anybody know where the scent originates or how I should go about trying to eliminate it?

Thanks a bunch!

Fernando

lol, congrats!

same here, the smell doesnt bother me though. its as with any thing you purchase new. a car, a computer. the smell goes away after use.
whatever you do however, dont spray anything directly on the macbook.
good luck!

Trying to hide an expensive purchase from the wife I see. ;)

Unfortunately there is no way to get rid of the smell, other than just letting it dissipate. Fortunately for me, my wife bought me a wireless keyboard today, so I got to be reminded of the smell.:D

just got that new smell myself. A few days ago I got the Time Capsule and had the smell and last night I got a new Blackbook. I love the new smell. lol

same i would too. but then people would become addicted to the scent, and want more and more of it, and they would have to create isa. iScent Anonymous.

Don't worry, it will dissipate after a little while. Ah, but it is a lovely smell... I can still smell it coming from my PowerBook if I put my nose by the vent... not that I do that often ;).

Funny, because the smell around the new Apple store in my mall reminds me of ham or bacon. hmm...

I love that smell. :D Everytime my nose captures that beautiful scent, I just can't help but smile. :)

iScent would be cool. Imagine spraying yourself with it and walk around the place. People will immediately recognize you as MacFreak. LOL!
