They went way overboard with diamonds...

Actually they did not. They know exactly what sells. Go to any high end shop on Rodeo Dr. There you'll find similar non Apple watches.

Yet that's a very ugly watch due to its "billboard" style face with huge lettering. Self serving that's what will dampen sales. Not price.

So either, they have some agreement with Apple here (seems unlikely)

Or they are simply assuming they can take it apart, measure the case, remake a perfect copy of the case, and put it all back together again?

The bit that catches my eye is: "IT IS AVAILABLE IN 18K YELLOW GOLD, 18K PINK GOLD AND 950 PLATINUM."

They have the case in platinum? How have they managed that? Have they actually re-eginnered the case molds and made their own?

Well, there's not much chance of misplacing it when it's in its case...

I don't know, maybe if I got bored with a collection of Porsches and exotic cars and I just had to spend $115k... I still would not buy this theft magnet.

I wonder if the Edition watch sells decently if Apple would consider something similar to this. But instead of all the damn diamonds around it, take the next step with the watch face and use diamond as the cover. As Jony said, it's the hardest transparent material. It would be expensive as hell, but apparently some people like that stuff.
