Hey guys,

Just wanted to brag about how excellent this new fast charger is, especially using the Mini - with its smaller battery. I just decided to add some extra battery juice using said charger. After 30 minutes (I timed it) the phone went from 28% charge to 79%. Personally I find that to be pretty awesome 😎

Just got the 20w charger myself for my 12 and it’s a beast. Been using the 5w brick for years so it’s a great upgrade. It broke not too long ago so decided to get the 20w.

Haha! I also bought the Apple 20W charger last week, along with a brand new Apple 2m Lightning to USB-C cord. I had no idea the new 20W brick was only $19.

I love it. It barely gets warm on the outlet, the phone doesn't get hot and it charges super fast to what I was used to. I was charging my iPhone with my old 10W iPad charger during the day for "fast charging" lol. This is a huge leap in charging speed, even for large iPhones. It's actually so fast it changed my charging habits. I don't worry ever now about charging if I need to.

I have a friend that bought that Anker nano 20W brick and it gets super hot on the outlet and his iPhone gets hot as well. It also makes a weird whine noise while it's charging.

Apple's brick is silent and quick!

Hehe, yeah, I always tell that to people who keep complaining about the battery life 😁

yeah it’s a nice “fix”! Just 15-30 mins of charging while doing something else and you got the whole day covered basically. I love it.

I don’t have a 12 series iPhone and I wanted to try fast charging for myself, so I bought the whole Apple kit of charger + cable to do it right on my XS Max. I guess it would’ve sucked if I had bought an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I felt jipped but now I’m at least covered in the new few years where I can use this 20W and also MagSafe if I feel like going that way! :)

it’s funny, the updated charger makes sense for us older iPhone owners who will later upgrade but not for new owners 😂

Hehe, I get that, but when I ordered my iPhone 12 mini (which only comes with a rather short USB-C to lightning cable) I also ordered the Apple 20W fast charger at the same time. I also sometimes carry around this portable brick battery/power bank, but it’s sooo much slower at charging...

So for those who take a 15 minute break to plug in and then cannot charge for 8 plus hours, the fast charger is great! On my Mini, the 5 watt charger adds 47% in one hour - I time it most charges - which is good for 24 hours for my use. So I have no need of a fast charger - and theoretically (lots of research), my battery will last longer by keeping it in the middle of its range. First phone I've ever had that I don't plug in overnight. Only time I get up to 100% is on long car trips.

I really want to buy this one but, to my mind i cannot justify it; I have about 20 odd charger bricks from old iphones and ipads; it does the job perfectly fine.

If only, there was a way to re-cycle them may be get some store credits from apple store, it would have made my life lot easier to purchase another charger.

first thought, i was truly disappointed when iphone was announced without charger brick but, soon after seeing so many just lying around at home, it made perfect sense to me.

That's a lot! Well if you include old flip phones and iPod port devices (like an iPhone 4), I have half a dozen chargers. If you are talking Lightning charger bricks only, that is impressive. How did you manage to get that many?

All the devices collected over the years ... mostly, when i sold/exchanged the older device, they only took the phone/ipad, didn't take the charger brick, even headphones, i have so many of them just lying here and there.

Headphones, actually i donated to few folks like drivers or bike-riders who have to do lot of driving to make their living.
Its a real mess and starting with apple, think most of the phone manufacturers are doing the right thing by removing more charger bricks.

I had to buy Earpods with Lightning for my Mini. Cheap enough at ten bucks on eBay from many owners who never use Earpods. Because Airpods are such big sellers. I tried the Beats Flex last week to cheap out on Airpods, returned them after running 10 steps. So the Airpods or at least the Airpods Pro may not work for me either with a similar ear seal system.

Family of 4 buying iPads and iPhones since 2007, I'd say it's very easy.
