So, me being me, I couldn't pass up yet another sub-$100 powerpc. It's as if these things actually grow on trees lately.

I haven't gotten the machine yet, but according to eBay it's shipping from about 200 miles away so I expect it to ship Monday and arrive Tuesday.

Here's what's okay with it:

It has 1 gig of RAM already installed.

The screen is fully functional.

The DVD superdrive (aka the reason I wanted it in the first place) is fully functional.

It has been tested on leopard and even stress tested.

Heres the bad:

It does not come with a hard drive (semantics. I'll fix that almost immediately)

Apparently because it's missing screws, the entire thing has been taped together.

Y'all pray for me.

I think so given the included RAM and working Superdrive but obviously those early models were prone to bad capacitors. Good luck :)

Okay. I'm going to upgrade the RAM to 2 gigs, slot in a 500 gig hard drive, (250 to Linux and 250 to leopard), and check the caps while I'm in there. Sounds like I may have gotten a nice toy to play with.
