Anyone dissapointed with the 2010 mbp edition compare to the 2008 model edition?

I like the design quality of the 2008 edition much better than the newer ones out right now.. Take the keyboard for example.

Well that doesn't make much sense, because the design is essentially unchanged from 2008 to 2010 on the MBPs.

I believed the battery could be remove through a slot and that the mbp was all white and the keys on the keyboard was align closer.

You mean EARLY 2008 I guess. I think the black keys look a bit off but I obviously prefer the new ones, newer tech, more power, and sleeker design.

I agree, I like the looks of the early 2008 MacBook Pros much better than the current unibody design. It looks sleeker and more professional in my opinion. If there was the option of buying the early 2008 design with the current technology I would buy it over the unibody design.

MacBook Pro 2010

I like the 2010 MacBook Pro's better, everything about them I like better, the keyboard, the trackpad, and the design :)

DOESN'T the hp envy have the same design?

The Envy is similar, but also released a year after the MBP redesign if you were trying to imply that they copied HP. The Envy is a nice looking laptop but i'm not a big fan of its patterned lid.

As for the keyboard changes...the keys were closer on the early 2008, but they were closer because they were beveled. The tops of the keys are in the same place on the new keyboard giving you the same amount of surface area to tap.

I feel the keys on the newer edition are too soft!!!

If I am not mistaken that one wasn't unibody and from everyone I see in person, it has major dents and buckling of parts everywhere.

It doesn't scream quality as the new unibody construction I think. But I do like the silver keyboard better.

Wow, that's the exaggeration of the day, I do believe. I'm typing this on my non-unibody MacBook Pro that has no dents and no buckling of parts. Of course there are going to be some MacBook Pros that are dented, people are careless, but that does not mean that the quality of the construction is bad. I've seen many dented unibody MacBook Pros as well.

I do think the build quality on the 2010 macbook pro is top notch as well. Performance-wise it seems great too, but the one problem is the graphics. They seem to lag/perform choppily with basic animations like expose.
