The 'About his mac' function does not work

I have no idea why but lately nothing happens when I press on that in the upper left corner. Absolutely nothing. Any suggestions as to why?

What have you done lately? Downloaded anything and installed it? Restarted? Try that.

Not much, really. I have installed a few apps - Spotify, Xcode, Google Drive and Battle.net. Nothing weird from obscure places. Restarting does not help. Neither does shutting the machine down and turning it back on.

What version of OS X are you running? Try a reinstall.

It did the job! I have no idea what I had done but the utility folders were messed up - that's for sure. Thanks again.
