ive always had matte ibooks/macbook pros but recently on a trip to miami, i took my previous gen (without the LED backlight) MBP on the beach and couldnt see the screen at all. now with all the talk of a new MBP coming out, im shopping for a new one. i tend to sit outside on my patio quite a bit and would like to use my MBP outside. would the glossy screen be better? the glare seems terrible though. any thoughts?

i had a matte screen for 5 years, and about 4 months ago, i got a laptop with a glossy screen. i almost never use it outside, but its pretty good. i think that you'll be fine as long as the sun is not behind you.
Nonsense. I, for one, welcome the age old glossy vs. matte thread. Sure beats another iPad flash one.
Why search when you can post the same questions over and over, especially since opinion never changes.
