Doing some housework today and opened the shades and was impressed as to how much better the screen looks with the sun shining in. Does anyone know the reason for this? On a retina screen the reflection usually makes the screen worse, but on this screen it's the opposite...

The Air screen looks much better with the brightness up and in sunlight.

Maybe you don't get out enough?
Seriously, I have been using my 2013 11" MBA to watch movies outside on the porch in the middle of the day. The screen looks fine out there at max brightness. But I don't think it looks any different inside.
