I was wondering if there were any speculations specifically about the macbook air?

What can be the next expected updates?
..(does intel have any new C2D mini versions coming ..that the air can possibly use)

I would not expect that machine to be updated any time soon.

Possible update to minor internal items (like the fans), but other than a speed bump, I don't see anything happening on that front.

Well, I believe the next processors from intel that Apple will put into MBs and MBPs will be of the same size as that in the MBA, so there might be a little something for the MBA in there too, but don't expect anything monumental.
