I picked one up at the Apple Store today and gave it a go.

Backstory: My M1 MBP display had ugly-looking streaks/marks from when I had previously tried to clean it with a disinfectant wipe. I tried a few things to get rid of them and no luck. I was resigned that I had damaged the display coating with whatever disinfectant was on the wipes. Then, today, I went to town on it with the polishing cloth and my display looks as shiny and black as the day it came home with me.

The thing is pricey but it does indeed work very very well.

As expected!

(what cleaning fluid did you use? Or did you clean the display without anything other than the magic cloth?)
I just used the cloth. There were a few little dried on specks/dots from something or other and those I scraped off gently with my fingernail (and probably could have used a cleaning fluid to help get them off) but, otherwise, the cloth alone worked super well.

(Also, I am going to steal the name "Magic Cloth" and that is its name from now on. Thanks for that!)

I just got mine. This is not a $2 micro fiber towel that everyone was bashing Apple about for the premium price tag. This is something really different.…

Like chamois cloth, but much nicer. I can’t explain it until you actually hold it, but yeah all the people giving Apple grief over this have no idea.

How do you clean it? With microfiber clothes, I generally just pitch ‘Em in the trash… they never work well after going through the washing machine

Are any cases available yet? I hate the idea of keeping it in the cardboard box it came in. Would prefer matching leather for my iPhone 13 Pro case.

Apple used to include these with their machines and I'll be honest, I can't remember ever having to wash them - they lasted for YEARS.

I'll be honest, that was before there was literally too much information on any topic on the web, so I'm sure now there will a tips thread on how to look after your cleaning cloth.

Pretty sure this is a different type of cloth that the ones that came with new macs. It's the same cloth as the one that comes with the XDR display.

This polishing cloth is well made and works well. Just a simple swipe And smudges and fingerprints are quickly removed
Is it worth $20 ?? Let the user decide.

My wife got one for me. Holiday stocking stuffer. I wouldn't have bought it for myself but it's very nice. I was using the old Apple cloths and the new one has 'em beat by a mile.

Not for me. Any screen I clean with it leaves a terrible microfiber dust all over. Also it has WAY too much friction.
